Tommy E. Plotz, 67, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at his home. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Tommy was born on July 11, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Godfrey John and Agnes Lucille (Reece) Plotz. He graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. Tommy was united in marriage to Patricia Dolph. To this union three children were born, Shannon, Christina, and Nathaniel. Tommy and Patricia later divorced. He worked as a meat cutter for Randall’s, MeToo, and Econofoods in Cedar Rapids. Tommy enjoyed camping, fishing, softball, and bowling. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Tommy is survived by his two daughters, Shannon Plotz of Cedar Rapids, and Christina Plotz of Blairstown, Iowa; son, Nathaniel “Nate” Plotz (fiancé, Michelle Anthony) of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, William, Austin, Lucas, Adriana, Desarae, and Katelyn; two great-grandchildren, Kaelynn and Eleanor; six siblings, Dick Plotz of Center City, Minnesota, Mike (Betty) Plotz of Marion, Jan (Jim) Armstrong of Cedar Rapids, Doug (Candace) Plotz of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, Tonda (Jerry) Ashby of Blairstown, and Tim Plotz of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Diana Plotz of Cedar Rapids; and former wife, Patricia Louise (Russell) Shelton of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Dylan; and brother, Terry Plotz.
