Todd A. Nixon, 28, of 2215 W. Broadway Ave., Anaheim, California, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, November 14, 2004, while running. Services: 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 19, 2004, at Lovely Lane United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Brian Milford. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Graveside Services: 2:00 p.m. Friday, West Union Cemetery, West Union.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Craig and Pamela Nixon of Cedar Rapids; his mother, Katherine Everett of Oregon City, Oregon; a special friend, Deanna Cairney of California; two sisters, Michel (Matt) Gage of Cedar Falls and Sara (Chad) Schmidt of Cedar Rapids; a half-brother, Scott (Abby) Nixon of Hiawatha; six nieces and nephews, Shelton, Tanner, K.J., Cole, Tyson and Seth; his paternal grandmother, Maxine Nixon of Marion and maternal grandmother, Kathleen Arnett of Grand Island, Florida; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Francis Nixon and Gaylen Murfield.
Todd was born July 14, 1976, the son of Craig Nixon and Katherine (Murfield) Everett in West Union, Iowa. He worked for Foot Action as a Sales Manager. Todd graduated from Kennedy High School in 1994, where he was active on the cross country and track teams. A very avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, he loved to run, golf, and enjoyed writing. Todd was a member of the Lovely Lane United Methodist Church.
