Tod A. Washburn, 44, of 385 16th St., Marion, died Friday, January 7, 2005, at the home of his parents in Marion after a sudden illness. Services: 1 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. Richard Marsceau, with military honors. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 - 6 p.m. today (Sunday.)

Survivors include his wife, Joan; two daughters, Abigail and Ashley, both at home; his parents, Don and Marlene Washburn of Marion; three brothers, Lon (Kimberly) Washburn of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lee Washburn of Marion and Guy Washburn of Los Angeles; his maternal grandmother, Melba Dye of Cedar Rapids; and numerous loving family members.

Tod was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Everett and Ruth Washburn; his maternal grandfather, Lyle Dye; and a sister-in-law, Kimberly.

Born December 27, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, Tod was the son of Donald and Marlene Dye Washburn. On August 28, 1993, he married Joan Knockel in Central City. Tod had served in the U.S. Navy and worked for B & B Drywall.

Military honors will be provided by Marion American Legion Post 298.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Tod?s children.
