Timothy J. Brecht, 23, of Tempe, Arizona, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died accidentally, Wednesday, January 31, 2007, in his home. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2007, St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Thomas McDermott. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at St. Ludmila Catholic Church. Burial: Linwood Cemetery.
Survivors include his parents, Terry and Linda; a sister, Elizabeth (Stuart) Kaump of Cedar Rapids; brother, Jason Brecht of Norway, Iowa; his best friend, Max, his dog; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tim was born May 28, 1983, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Terry and Linda (Lindenmier) Brecht. He graduated from Kennedy High School, attended Iowa Lakes College where he earned his AA degree and attended one year at ASU. He was employed by Toys R Us and was a waiter-server at Tutti Santi, an Italian restaurant.
Tim enjoyed sports, especially golf, disc golf, dodgeball, basketball and snow boarding. He also liked camping and fishing. He was Phoenix Suns and White Sox fan. He loved his music and movies.
Tim?s heart of gold made him a kind, generous and loving son, brother and friend to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed and long remembered.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Timothy?s memory.
