Thomas Arthur Schaum

Thomas A. Schaum, 71, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. A private family gathering was held at St. Luke’s Hospice. Burial in V.A. Cemetery in Johnston, Iowa. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include a son, Kevin Schaum; friend, Alfredia Horton of Cedar Rapids; and cousin, Nancy Skogsbergh of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Thomas was born on December 6, 1941, in Des Moines, Iowa, son of Darwin and Goldie (Marvin) Schaum of Antigo, Wisconsin. The family moved to Traer, Iowa. where Thomas graduated from high school. Thomas served in the United States Navy for four years. He managed apartments and general maintenance. Thomas enjoyed taking photos.
