Thomas Joseph Nulty, 77, of 150 Thompson Dr. SE, formerly of Lawler, died Saturday, March 25, 2006. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at St. Matthew?s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids by Father Mark Osterhaus. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion where a vigil service will begin at 7 p.m. The family will also greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Graveside Service: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Lawler by Father Marvin Salz.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes; their children, Pat (Cindy) Nulty of Ely, Becky (Nulty) Brandt of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Tom (Carol) Nulty of Van Horne, Maureen (Roger) Harvey of Council Bluffs, Mike (Chris) Nulty of Omaha, Nebraska, Teresa (Hugh) Reilly of Seattle, Washington and Laura (Terry) Hutchens of Tomball, Texas; a sister, Regina Burke of New Hampton; nineteen grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mary Anne Nulty; and a son, Jim Nulty.
Tom was born September 9, 1928, the son of Edward "Ray? and Mary (Quinn) Nulty in New Hampton. On September 3, 1951, he married Agnes Eileen Kelly at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in Jerico. Tom was a farmer, and then worked in farm equipment sales at John Deere and Case. He later worked as a long-haul truck driver for many years. Tom and Agnes moved to Cedar Rapids in December of 1994 after living in Lawler for over forty years.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Tom?s memory.
