Thomas “Harley” A. Brandenburg, 64, of Delaware, Iowa, passed away, Saturday, May 25, 2019. Visitation: 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2019, Bohnenkamp – Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, Iowa. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Bohnenkamp – Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, Iowa. Additional visitation one hour prior to services. Inurnment at a later date: Bethel Cemetery, Osterdock, Iowa.
Tom was born April 21, 1955, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Wilbur and Dorothy (Harry) Brandenburg. Tom grew up in North Buena Vista and later moved to Greeley. On July 27, 1974, Tom married JoAnn Manning. He was a trucking company owner and operator, traveling the country. Tom served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion, a Veteran of Foreign Wars, and president of the Sons of Freedom Motorcycle Club. Tom enjoyed riding his Harley, camping, and was a fan of John Wayne and the Green Bay Packers. Tom loved his family, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his wife, JoAnn Brandenburg of Delaware; his daughters, Stacy (Steve) VanDenBerghe of Stockton, and Jennifer Brandenburg (Allan Domeyer) of Delaware; grandchildren, Levi, Morgan, Brooklyn, Makenzie, Taylor, Ty, Tessa, Kansas, Gena, Jamie, and Gunner; great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Allyannah, Ella, Jozzlyn, and Maddox; a sister, Sandra Hadley; and brothers, Rob McDowell, Alvin LeGrand, and Sonny LeGrand.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Timothy Brandenburg; sisters, Debbie Brandenburg and Marlene Brandenburg; great-granddaughter, Baby “K”; brother-in-law, John “Jack” Hadley; and niece, Dorothy Mae.
