Thomas Michael Greene, 19, of Marion , died Monday, June 12, 2006, in University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City, from heart and liver failure. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion, where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m.
Survivors include his parents, Bob and Tricia Greene of Marion; his paternal grandparents, Bob and Gwen Greene of Marion, and his maternal grandmother, Elaine Brown of Farley; three brothers, Jeremy (Jodi) Greene and their daughter Meghan of Marion, Nathan Greene and fianceé Katie Curtis of Marion and Christopher Greene of Marion.
Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Lee Brown of Hiawatha; Tom (Nancy) Brown of Gardner, Kansas, and their children, Elizabeth, Robby and Michael; Paul (Jill) Brown of Farley and their children, Joey, Jimmy, Jenna and Jonathan; Bonnie Brown (Stuart Wells) of Morgantown, West Virginia, and their son, Clancy; Phil (Becky) Brown of Farley and their children, Alison, Austin and Alex; Ted Brown of Farley; Dan Greene of Cedar Rapids; Jim Greene (Tiffany Dlouhy) of Alburnett and his children, Jason and Erin; Mike (Linda) Greene of Olin and his children Dawn, Brooke, Mike and Christina; Ann Greene of Marion; and many lifelong friends, too numerous to mention.
Thomas was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather, Francis McDermott on June 12, 1968; his uncle, Alan Brown on January 27, 1979; his grandfather, Loras Brown on June 12, 1990; and his nephew, Nicholas Greene, who died February 16, 2004.
Thomas was born the son of Robert F. and Patricia A. (Brown) Greene on February 15, 1987, in Cedar Rapids. He attended St. Joseph Elementary School and graduated from Marion High School in 2005. Thomas was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and had most recently worked for Branded Apparel in Marion.
Thomas was a dedicated Hawkeye fan and loved the outdoors, fishing and dairy farming. Thomas dearly loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them all.
