Thomas M. Glass, Sr. 71, of Delaware died Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester. Memorial Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Delaware by Rev. Donald Krause. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Clifton Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Earlville and one hour before services on Friday at the church in Delaware. Burial will be in the Pine View Cemetery, Delaware.
Tom was born June 14, 1941 in Monticello, the son of Ernest R. and Anna (McGlaughlin) Glass. On October 12, 1959, Tom was united in marriage to Rosemary Payne. Tom was a hard worker; working as a farm hand, a milk hauler, at Hawkeye Castings, and Ertl Toys, retiring after 18 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, tinkering in the garage, camping, and his golf cart. He was always giving of his time and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his wife, Rosemary of Delaware; six children, John (Barb) Glass of Earlville, Greg (Deanna) Glass of Marion , David Glass of Cedar Rapids, Kathy(Greg) Glass-Miller of Marion, Joseph Glass of Marengo, and Timothy (Trish) Glass of Delaware, sixteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Feltes.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas Glass, Jr., and one sister, Delores Manson.
