Theresa Korte, 88, of Anamosa, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at her home in Anamosa. A private family Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairieburg, Iowa, conducted by Reverend Nick March.
Theresa was born on March 21, 1932, in Baileyville, Kansas, the daughter of Anton and Margaret (Broxterman) Nolte. She graduated from Kelly High School in Kansas. On May 28, 1952, Theresa was united in marriage to Adrian Korte. She helped farm alongside her husband. A very active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Theresa had a very strong faith, a member of the Eucharistic Ministries, Altar and Rosary Society, and an usher. She also started the St. Joseph’s fish fry. Theresa was a fabulous cook, talented at canning and cooking. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, woodworking, staining and painting. Theresa most enjoyed being together with her family. She was always there when you needed and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Theresa is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 68 years, Adrian Korte of Anamosa; three children, Lynn (Diana) Korte of Central City, Iowa, LaRae (Donald) Reichenauer of Monticello, Iowa, and Brad Korte of Anamosa; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her in-laws, Marion, Alberta, Virginia, Rosemary, and Tom; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Margaret Nolte; infant son, Steven Korte; four sisters; and two brothers.
