Theola Geraldine (Lint) Scott, 87, a resident of Garnett Place in Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, March 31, 2016. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2016, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, by Pastor Mike Morgan. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include her children, Susan (Vernon) Tapper of Parkersburg, Jim (Rita) Scott of Central City, Jerry (Jerilyn) Scott of Marion and John (Debra) Scott of Marion; eleven grandchildren, Lisa (Joel), Laura (Kyle), Jennifer (Robert), Kim ( Corey), Danielle (Hykim), Jamie (Alicia), Zach, Corey, Jason (Jody), Tyler, and Caleb; seven great-grandchildren, Makiyla, Brooklyn, Amiya, Alexander, Otto, Charles and Jayden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; parents; and three brothers.
Theola “Scotty” was born November 8, 1928, the daughter of Dewey and Alice (Eckhart) Lint in Marion, Iowa. She married Wayne Scott on July 13, 1945. Theola was a waitress, raised her family, got her GED, and worked at Sears until her retirement. She enjoyed family picnics, bus trips with Wayne, family fishing trips and family get-togethers. Theola was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marion.
