Theodore C. Reynolds, 93, of Palo, Iowa, died Thursday, May 7, 2009, in West Ridge Care Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 11, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Charles Keyes and Rev. Forest Whitlatch. Visitation: one hour prior to the service, Monday, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, with military honors.
Survivors include his children, Michele Reynolds of Palo, Denita Reynolds of Dothan, Alabama and Jeannine Reynolds of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Theodore was preceded in death by his wife, Rita; parents; son, Thomas Reynolds; and all his brothers and sisters.
Born April 17, 1916, in Palo, Theodore was the son of Thomas and Bertha (Gillham) Reynolds, Jr. Theodore served in the Army during WW II. He graduated from Coe College and on May 28, 1949, he was united in marriage to Rita Melton, in the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Rita died December 6, 2006. He was employed as a manager for Wilson’s Packing House and farmed in the Palo area.
Theodore’s family and faith were very important to him and was a church planner and builder. He loved genealogy and wrote a book about genealogy which is on file at the Masonic Lodge. He was known as a very hard worker.
