Theodore Mark Joseph Althoff, III "Ted?, 44, of Manchester, died Thursday, June 8, 2006 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City as a result of injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident.
A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2006 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Manchester by Rev. Msgr. Ralph Simington. Family will greet friends from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service and one hour before services at the church on Monday. Burial will be in St. Joseph?s Catholic Cemetery, Earlville.
Ted was born October 17, 1961 in Manchester, the son of Clarence J. and Marjorie L. (Tobin) Althoff. He graduated from West Delaware High School in 1980. Ted served in the United States Navy as a chef for the officers aboard the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk. He then served in the reserves for three years. Ted did farm tiling with his father and has worked at Rockwell-Collins in Manchester.
Ted enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, trapping, fishing, snowmobiling and riding his motorcycle. Ted especially loved spending time with his nephews, nieces and many friends. He liked to cook and bake. Ted always "had a plan.?
Ted is survived by his mother, Margie Althoff of Manchester; his five siblings, Lori (Tom) Trenkamp of Manchester, Lisa Althoff-Allyn of Cedar Rapids, Cindy (Howard) Craig of Manchester, Paula Althoff of Cedar Rapids and her special friend Jeff Kulper, and Craig Althoff of Manchester; nieces and nephews, Jordan, Kayla, Amanda, Nicholas, Josh, Josiah, Victoria, Julia, Brooke, Dalton, Abigail and Devon; a great-nephew, Ashton; his grandmother, Vivian Althoff of Cascade; and his special friend, Pam Ingles and her son Buck of Hopkinton.
Ted was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Althoff in 2000; and his grandparents, Frank Althoff and Alfred Tobin & Alma Tobin-Meis.
Ted will live on in the hearts of family, friends and recipients he never met through his generous gift of organ and tissue donation.
