Thelma Francis Miller, 71, of Toddville, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Heritage Nursing & Rehab Center, from lung disease. Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008, at First Assembly of God in Cedar Rapids by Rev. Rick Gail. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. ?" 1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial: Dunkard Cemetery, rural Toddville. Arrangments by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her children, Carol (Richard) Frazier of Marion, Ronald Miller of Cedar Rapids, Roger (Barbara) Miller of Hiawatha, Terry Walton of Cedar Rapids, Barbara Thompson of Hollywood, California, Kenny (Cindy) Miller of Coggon, and Shelly (Carey) Storla of Marion; a brother, William Slocum of Cedar Rapids; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Sherry; a son, David; a brother, George; and a grandson, Kevin.
Thelma was born September 3, 1936, the daughter of Hubert and Elizabeth (Swabey) Slocum in Los Angeles, California. On November 3, 1957, she married Roy E. Miller. He died December 1, 1989, in Cedar Rapids. Thelma worked for Northbrook Manor Care Center for fifteen years and later at the First Assembly of God Church in Cedar Rapids, retiring in 2006.
Thelma was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Cedar Rapids.
