Thelma Lee Albin Millard, 70, of 2585 25th Ave., Marion, formerly of Central City, died Thursday, December 25, 2003, in her home from complications of Muscular Dystrophy. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2003, at the First United Methodist Church in Central City, by the Rev. Nick Needham. Friends may call at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, from 4 - 8 p.m. Monday (Dec. 29.) Burial: Blodgett Cemetery, rural Central City.

Survivors include her husband, Lynn; her children, Lynnda Lee Millard-Sanborn and husband, Gary Sanborn of Iowa City, Sharon Kay Millard of Marion, Brian Albin Millard of Byron, Minnesota, and Craig John Millard and companion, Cheryl Paulsen of Central City; three grandchildren, Christina R. Millard, Lance B. Millard and Curtis J. Millard; two brothers, Keith (Donna) Albin of Central City and Delbert (Joyce) Albin of Palo; a sister, Marian (Harold) Woods of Central City; a sister-in-law, Patricia Albin of Cedar Rapids; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Robert D. Albin and S. Wendell Albin.

Thelma was born the daughter of Seth and Verna B. Andersen Albin on June 6, 1933, in West Branch, Iowa. She was united in marriage to G. Lynn Millard on August 26, 1951, at the First United Methodist Church in Marion. Thelma graduated from Central City High School in 1951, and from St. Luke?s Methodist Hospital School of Practical Nursing in 1981. For nine years, she was a licensed practical nurse for Winslow House Care Center in Marion. Thelma was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Central City, United Methodist Women and the G.R. Club.

A memorial fund has been established to benefit the following: the First United Methodist Church of Central City, St. Luke?s Hospice, P.O. Box 2036, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 52406-3026 and Camp Courageous in Monticello.
