Thelma Kathleen Gillette, 95 years and 2 days, a resident of the Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha, Iowa, died there Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Services: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010, Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Pastor John Seitz. The family will greet friends 4 – 7 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2010, at the funeral home. Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 20, 2010, Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery, Waterloo, Iowa.
Survivors include her daughter, Margaret (Thomas) Demorest; her son, Charles (Joyce) Gillette; 5 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
Thelma was born September 12, 1915, the daughter of Charles and Jennie (Wendell) Cunningham, in Edgewood, Iowa. She married Gordon Gillette on December 29, 1940, at St. Paul Methodist Church in Waterloo. Thelma worked and retired from K-Mart.
A memorial fund has been established in Thelma’s memory.
