Thelma May “Dolly” Duball, 84, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends form 1-4 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Ramsden of Fairfax, Iowa; sons, Larry Duball and Tim Duball both of Cedar Rapids, and Dave (Pamela) Duball of Atkins; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; step mother, Edna Gorkow of Missouri; sister, Wendy Gorkow of Missouri; sister-in-law, Dorothy McCormick of Harpers Ferry; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Onalee Galli.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Duball; two brothers, Charles and William; and sister, Marian.

Dolly was born on May 17, 1930, in McGregor, Iowa, daughter of Elwin and Jeanette (Barton) Gorkow. She graduated from Strawberry Point High School in 1949. Dolly married Ray Duball on August 2, 1950 at the United Methodist Church in Strawberry Point, Iowa; he later died September 23, 2008. She worked as a real estate secretary in Cedar Rapids and the Penny Saver before her retirement. She later worked as a greeter for K-Mart west. Dolly was a member of the Sharon United Methodist Church and was a faithful member and worked for the Trinity Nazarene Church. She taught adult Sunday school and was a member of the choir. Dolly loved working in God’s House and being a servant for the Lord. Her favorite saying was “you are never a stranger in the Lord’s House.”

A memorial fund has been established in Dolly memory.
