Terry L. Fisher, 65, of 1590 Sundance Drive, Marion, died Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2007, at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Karen of Marion; a son, Steve Fisher of Des Moines; two daughters, Julie (Dean) Ulrich of Olin and Penny Fisher of Cedar Rapids; his mother, Marion Fisher of Marion; and ten grandchildren, Joshua, Steve, Emelie, Dean Jr., Daniel, Samantha, Annelise, Brock, Madison, and Gracie.
Also surviving are four brothers, John Fisher of Cedar Rapids, Jim (Tracy) Fisher of Cedar Rapids, Butch Fisher of Cedar Rapids and Danny Fisher of Cedar Rapids; three sisters, Dorothy (Roger) Groeneveld of Boulder, Colorado, Janice (Jim) Leonard of Cedar Rapids, and Glynda (Everett) Mysak of Marion; and special family members, Clara and Erick, Shirley and Bill Voinovich, and Kay and Jerry Duball; and many nieces and nephews.
Terry was born May 27, 1942, the son of Glen and Marion (Anderson) Fisher in Aledo, Illinois. On January 2, 1964, he married Karen Nieland in Norfolk, Virginia. From the age of sixteen, Terry learned the trade of Lathe and Plastering. During his career he had mastered his trade into an art form, retiring in 1997. Terry was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed his time hunting, fishing and camping. He was also a fan of the Chicago Cubs.
A memorial fund has been established in Terry’s memory.
