Teresa Mary Stevens

Teresa Mary Greif (Hollingsworth) Stevens, 94, of Mentor, Ohio, formally of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion, Iowa, with a visitation one hour prior. Private family inurnment at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Marion is assisting the family.
Teresa was born on December 15, 1929, in Hopkinton, Iowa, the daughter of Emil and Josephine (Gudenkauf) Greif. She graduated from St. John’s High School in Ryan, Iowa in 1947, and then went on to graduate from Cedar Rapids Business College in 1950. Teresa married John Hollingsworth on April 23, 1955, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ryan, Iowa and they were married until his death in May 1972. She married Richard Stevens on November 26, 2005, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion, Iowa. Teresa was always a hard worker both in her home and as a secretary for many years. In her retirement, she was an honored hospice volunteer and caring childcare provider for friends and family.
Teresa will be dearly missed by all. Her faith and family were central in her life. We love you Mom, and we thank you for all you did for us.
Left to cherish her memory include her children, Monte (Nancy) Hollingsworth, Von (Martha) Hollingsworth, Sally (Jerry) Korbel, Scott (Laura Garver) Hollingsworth; grandchildren, Dr. Jocelyn (Dr. Stephen) Hart, Paige (Andrew) Arnold, Anna (Michael) Dey, John (Lindsey) Korbel, Erin (Jake) Thomson, Conner Hollingsworth; great-grandchildren, Eric Hart, Duncan Hart, Joanna Arnold, Gwen Arnold, Finn Thomson; stepdaughter, Cheryl (James) Harrison; step-grandchildren, Chris (Melissa) Stevens, Heather (Ed) Bertch; step-great-grandchildren, Baine Bertch and Caden Bertch; brother, Arnold (Betty) Greif; and sisters-in-law, Jean Greif, Elodie Greif, Velda Greif, Rita Greif, Lois Greif, Marcene Greif, and Diane Parsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John Hollingsworth and Richard Stevens; brothers, Robert Greif, Joseph Greif, John Greif, Earl Grief, Loras Greif, Fay Greif, Louis Greif; sister, Jeannette Freese; brother-in-law, Duane Freese; and sister-in-law, Alvina Greif.
