Teresa Anne (Cook) Kuiken, 35, of Marion, died Sunday, November 5, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Per Teresa?s wishes, a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her husband, John, a son, Fletcher and two daughters, Claire and Chloe; her parents, Vernon and Carolyn Cook of Marion; her brothers and sisters, James V. (Sheila) Cook of Marion, Steven E. (Pat) Cook of Fairfax, David B. (Karen) Cook of Spokane, Washington, Donald R. Cook of Marion, Ronald D. (Karan) Cook of Quincy, Illinois, Daniel J. (Sondra) Cook of New Virginia, Iowa, Janine M. (Rick) Walters of Center Point, Michael A. (Valerie) Cook of Baxter, and Diane S. Cook of Urbana; a grandmother, Rose Vojt of Marion; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her dog Caita.
Teresa was born the daughter of Vernon H. and Carolyn R. (Vojt) Cook on September 29, 1971, in Cedar Rapids. On March 25, 1998, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, she was united in marriage to John Kuiken. Teresa was a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with degrees in history, anthropology and archeology.
Teresa did research for the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. Her area of expertise was the Highlands of Scotland.
More than anything else, Teresa was very proud to have been a mother. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
