Susan Lynn "Sue" Stratton (Stratton)

Sue L. Stratton, 50, of Manchester, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids following heart failure.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2007, at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester by Pastor Lenley Davis where family will greet friends after 10:00 a.m. Scattering of her cremated remains will be at a later date.
Sue was born September 27, 1956 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Harold H. and Mary I. (Brown) Stratton. She attended Roscommon High School in Roscommon, Michigan. In 1973, Sue married Edward N. Dowland, Sr. in Roscommon, Michigan. The couple lived in Higgins Lake, Michigan where she worked at the Fawn Hotel. The couple later divorced and she moved to Flint, Michigan. In 1996, Sue graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Rock County, with an associate?s degree then in1999 from University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She was in the Who?s Who in American Colleges and Universities and served as Class President at the University. Sue married Keven Horwath and moved to Madison, Wisconsin where she worked in sales and manufacturing. Sue moved to Manchester in 2003 where she bartended at Eagles Club.
Sue enjoyed puzzles, collecting pigs, Harley Davidson motorcycles, playing poker and billiards. She took care of her grandchildren, which were most important in her life.
Sue is survived by two children, Nathan (Sheryl) Dowland of Delhi and Stacy Hietpas of Madison, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Morgan, Ethan, Mikayela and Mason; siblings, Ruthann (Jerry) Selleck, Bill (Kay) Stratton, Sharon (Ozzy) Hodge, Marsha (Leonard) Pickelman, Darlene (Dick) Cryderman, Rob Stratton (special friend, Kathy Ball) and Carol Weier, all of Michigan; a sister-in-law, Rita Stratton of Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold & Mary Stratton; two brothers, Jerry and Dale Stratton; and a sister, Pearl Major.
