Susan Ann Sauer

Susan Ann Sauer, 59, of Waterloo, Iowa passed away in her sleep on Monday, November 12, 2018. Private family service will be at a later date. Burial will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Arrangements made by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, Iowa.
Susie was born on her parents 4th anniversary, November 9, 1959, to Keith and Elizabeth (Walztoni) Sauer in Buchanan County, Iowa. She grew up on the family's farm outside of Troy Mills by the Wapsipinicon River, before moving the summer before 4th grade to Lisbon, Iowa, East of Cedar Rapids.
Susie had many friends and enjoyed nature, trampoline jumping, dogs, and riding her bike. After her 10th birthday, she became ill, and was hospitalized. Shortly after doctors diagnosed her with meningitis; a brain tumor was discovered followed by a massive stroke. Her hospital stay lasted three months. Susie lived at her family's home for ten years after her illness occurred. She then moved to Harmony House residential facility in Waterloo where she still lived at the time of her passing. Susie enjoyed wheelchair bowling and always loved having visitors.
Susie's parents and grandparents preceded her in death.
She is survived by five brothers and sisters: Sam (Marty) Turner of Iowa Falls, Jerry of LaPorte City, Connie (Dennis) Chartier of Dallas, Texas, Russell (Donna) of Lisbon and Mike (Sue) of Greensboro, Georgia, and many nieces and nephews.
