Susan Rae Regal (Williams)
March 26, 1939 — February 29, 2008
Susan R. Regal, 68, of 382 6th Ave., Marion, died, Thursday, February 28, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, from complications of cancer. Susan was an organ donor and cremation was performed by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, Iowa. Memorial Service: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Rev. Kurt Walker. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private graveside services will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in McGregor, Iowa, at a later date.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Leland (Lee) Regal, a daughter, Karen (Gary) Johnson of Mason City, and a son, Stanton Regal of Cedar Rapids; brother, Kenneth Taube (Lynda) of Marion, brother-in-law, Dennis (Betty) Regal of McGregor, Iowa; and a sister, Christine (Paul) Granden of Caddo Mills, Texas; two nieces and six nephews and several cousins. She is also survived by her four-legged family; Lizabeth, Beatrice, Emma, Sophie, Tazz, and Sebastian.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Susan was born March 26, 1939, in Marion, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd and Mildred (Williams) Taube and Ray Stanton. She was a graduate of Marion High School. She married Leland Regal on March 30, 1958 at Marion, Iowa. Susan worked for Agri Management Services in Marion for 23 years. She was an avid sewer, reader, and boater.
