Lt. Steven L. Glenn, 53, of Marion, died suddenly, Saturday, January 3, 2004. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at Grace Baptist Church in Marion. Friends and family may call from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello.

Survivors include his son, Aaron Freiburg of Cedar Rapids; his daughter, Robin Titler and husband Nate of Anamosa; his mother, Ruth Ann Glenn of Center Junction; and his friend, Mary Glenn of Cedar Rapids.

In addition to his family, Steve was anxiously awaiting the birth of his first granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Steve was born April 20, 1950, the son of Joseph and Ruth Ann (Ketelsen) Glenn in Center Junction. He worked for the Marion Police Department for 30 years, most recently as a Lieutenant. Steve loved watching sports, especially the Hawkeyes, collecting Harley Davidson miniatures, and hunting and fishing with his friends.

Steve was a very dedicated police officer and was very devoted to the welfare and safety of children. Therefore, to honor his memory, memorials in Steve?s memory may be directed to Child Protection Services c/o St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids.
