Steven Mark Blair, 61, of Marion, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016, at his home from complications related to cancer. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016, from 4 - 7 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. The funeral service will be on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home by Rev. Steve Qualben.
Survivors include his wife, Jenny Blair; daughters, Amber (Nate) Koehler of Waverly, Sara Norlin (Justin White) of Marion and Becky (Cesar) Gonzalez of Marion; siblings, Dean (Jan) Blair of Grand Junction, Colorado, Susan (Mike) Epright of Nucla, Colorado and Lynne (Joey) Barker of Cripple Creek, Colorado; and five grandsons, Tristan, Caleb, Thane, Noah and Kai.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his granddaughter, Trinity Koehler.
Steve was born October 28, 1954, to John and Rachel (Cooper) Blair in Uravan, Colorado. He was a 1972 graduate of Nucla High School in Colorado, where he lettered in football, basketball and baseball. He attended the Colorado School of Mines on a baseball scholarship. Steve then received his B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Iowa and began his engineering career at Rockwell Collins in 1984. He married Karen Peak in 1979 and they later divorced. Steve then married Jennifer (Brown) Norlin on December 30, 2000, in Cedar Rapids after a long courtship. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking, reading and doing his daily Sudoku puzzle. Steve also loved to travel but his greatest love of all was the time spent with his family, especially his grandsons.
