Stephen M. "Weasel? Welton, 51, of 343 28th Avenue S.W., Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, June 21, 2005, in his home following a lengthy illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2005 at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday. The Rev. Gary Dobbins will officiate. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey; a son, Matthew Welton of Iowa City; a daughter, Bridget Welton and friend, Brent Murphy of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Cynthia Schoner and Stephanie VandeZandschulp, both of Cedar Rapids; and a special dog, Tasha.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Dave Welton.
Born March 25, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Lewis and Helen Harman Welton, he graduated from Jefferson High School in 1972. On May 24, 1975, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa, Iowa, he married Audrey Hardersen. He worked for Nordstrom Direct for eight years, Coca Cola Bottling for seven years and owned and operated Welton?s Home Juice for nineteen years. Weasel loved camping, boating and his friends. He will be remembered for his tremendous humor and enormous group of friends.
