Stephen "Steve" Dean Koinzan

Stephen “Steve” Dean Koinzan, 59, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. In agreement with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Steve was born on June 28, 1963, on Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. He grew up in California with his parents, William Ray and Ann Marie (Pope) Russ. Steve graduated from Artesia High School in Norwalk, California. He went on to serve honorably in the United States Air Force. Steve was a truck driver for 10 Roads Express. He was a jokester, and loved to read science fiction, watch movies, gaming, and liked to travel. He was an avid fan of Disney and traveled to Disneyland and Disney World. He especially loved spending time with his family. Steve will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Steve is survived and lovingly remembered by his five siblings, Mike Russ of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Tracy Jarvis of California, John Koinzan of Marion, Kimberly Power of Washington, and Kim Thvedt of Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He preceded his father in death, William Russ, who passed away on December 25, 2022. Steve was also preceded in death by his mother, Anne Marie Russ; grandparents; and one sister, Christine Russ.
