Stephen "Steve" Schelich

Stephen “Steve” Schelich, 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, December 22, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be held at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.
Steve was born on July 6, 1950, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Benjamin and Florence Schelich. He served in the United States Marine Reserves. He married Barb Fuller on October 3, 1981, at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Marion. Steve was an electrician and project manager by trade. He was employed with Frank Millard and Company in Burlington for 10 years. In 2014, he retired from the Terry-Durin Company in Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing. Steve was also an avid Hawkeye fan, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Barb Schelich; children, Lisa (Jon) Ivanovich, Steve (Angi) Schelich, and Thomas “TJ” (Chris) Schelich; five grandchildren; two brothers; one sister; sister-in-law, Deb (Dave) Odell; brother-in-law, David (Betty) Fuller; and many nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial fund has been established in Steve’s memory.
