Stanley Wroblewski, 79, of 378 27th Ave. SW, died Thursday, December 14, 2006, at West Ridge Care Center, following an extended illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids by Pastor Brenda Peconge. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello.
Survivors include four daughters, Kathy (Bob) Barta of Cedar Rapids, Patty (Pat) Davidson of Cedar Rapids, Becky (special friend, Alan Crump) Wroblewski of Rowley, Barby (Ethan) Hauck of Lee?s Summit, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Molly and Andrew Bergstrom, Amy (Ryan) Burns, Josh Barta, Kara (David) Gruber, Lindsay and Zane Hauck; two great-grandchildren, Raelynne and Payton Burns.
Also surviving are six brothers, Robert, Charles, John, Ben, Steven, Fred; two sisters, Betty, Sandy; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth; his twin brother, Donald; brothers, August and Leon; and a sister, Kate.
Stanley was born October 22, 1927, the son of Franz and Grace (Dirks) Wroblewski in Anamosa. He graduated from Anamosa High School in 1945 where he was senior class president and homecoming king. On December 30, 1950, he married Ruth Ann Yossi in Monticello. She died March 11, 1998. Stanley attained the rank of Corporal while serving with the U.S. Army from 1946 - 1947 and was honored with a WWII Victory Medal. He was a postal carrier in Cedar Rapids. Stanley was proud to have been a Golden Glove Boxer, and living his dream of owning a small acreage. He enjoyed reading the paper every day, going to church, traveling, square dancing, and camping.
