Stanley H.F. Heald, 76, of the Iowa Veteran’s Home, Marshalltown, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died there Wednesday, July 9, 2008, following a long illness. Services: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Del Bear. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2008, at the funeral home. Private family burial.
Survivors include his daughter, April Wheeler of Hiawatha; grandsons, Matthew and Aaron Wheeler; great grandson, Kyler Schutzman; several cousins; and many friends.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents.
Stanley was born March 20, 1932, in Marion, the son of Elmer and Glennis Heald. Stanley was a decorated Korean War vet in the U.S. Navy. Stanley married Sharon Wilson and had a daughter, April. They later divorced. He then married Martha and they divorced but remained close friends. Stanley was the owner of Chesapeake Investigation Agency and founder of Uncle Stan’s Military Surplus.
Stanley was a lifetime member of the VFW #788, a charter member of Pheasants Forever and a member of MENSA and the Masonic Lodge.
