Southwell "Scotty? Johnson, 87, of Marion, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 17, 2005, at Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids, after a long illness. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2005, at Glendorado Evangelical Country Church in Glendorado, Minnesota. Inurnment: Oak Hill Cemetery, Santiago, Minnesota.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Hilda; two daughters, Pat (Cliff) Malone of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Sally (Bob) Abbott of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Kip Malone, Pam Malone-Saathoff and Kyle, Ashley, Josh and Adam Abbott; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Canute, Eric, Edgar and Esbern.

Scotty was born the son of Ole and Sarah McAllister Johnson on September 14, 1917, in Waterloo, Iowa. On December 18, 1943, he was united in marriage to Hilda Jenson in Glendorado, Minnesota. Scotty was a salesman/office manager for Eli Lilly Company for thirty-five years.

Scotty loved talking about veterinary medicine and animals. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, rocks, lapidary work, gardening and dogs. Scotty will be truly remembered for his sense of humor.

A memorial fund has been established in memory of Scotty.
