Sonia Eunice Bye (Marshall)

Sonia E. Bye, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Tim Ferry. Family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 and 10:30 until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Garry Bye of Cedar Rapids; sons, Kevin and Kyle (Julie) all of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Michelle, Zach, Alex and Jordan; siblings, Gwendolyn (Leo) Miller of Danville, IA, Harold (Vi) Marshall of Irwin, PA, and Richard (Mary) Marshall of Montrose, IA; and a sister-in-law, Maxine Marshall.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kerry; daughter-in-law, Megan; two brothers, Bob and Jim Marshall; and two sisters, Sylvia (Bill) Davis and Lana (Bud) Metinger.
Sonia was born on February 14, 1937, in Keokuk, Iowa, daughter of Albert and Eunice (Newhouse) Marshall. She married Garry Bye on March 10, 1957, in Montrose, IA. Sonia was the manager at Metco Credit Union until her retirement in 2002. She loved crafts, camping trips and was a member of the “500” club.
