Shirley Thiesen, 69, of 873 Club Lane S.W., Cedar Rapids, died Thursday morning, January 15, 2004, in her home following a two-year battle with breast cancer. Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, by Chaplain Christine Wagner Hecht. Burial will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
Survivors include her husband, Wally; two daughters, Michelle (Bob) Kuder of What Cheer, Iowa and Linda Thiesen of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Jay (Jo) Moore of Marion, Steve (Cris) Moore of Dallas, Texas, and Ernie (Chris) Coleman of Cedar Rapids; nieces and nephews, Mike Moore, SuAnn Decker, Sarah Gibbs and John Moore; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sandra Moore.
Born June 4, 1934, in Volga, Iowa, to Ira "Bud? and Blanche Witham Moore, she married Wallace J. Thiesen on December 9, 1950, at St. James United Methodist Church, in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Shirley loved her family and her pets and enjoyed taking care of people. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
