Shirley Ann Howe, 73, of Central City, died Saturday, August 28, 2004, following a long illness. Friends may call Tuesday, August 31, 2004, from 4-7 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Burial with private family services will be conducted at Mt. Clark Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Dennis D. (Lori) Howe of College Station, Texas, Cynthia Anderson of Iowa City, Judy (Philip) Brecht of Central City and Crissie (Rodney) Schlotterbeck of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren, Darrin D., Stacey, Molly, Jill, Nick, Emily, Eric and Lewayne; and five great-grandchildren, Lauren, Dillon D., Lindsey, Shane and Rebecca.
Also surviving are a brother, James (Beverly) Mason of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and a sister, Dixie (Dale) Thompson of Sun City, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delwin; and a daughter, Jane Marie Howe, who died in infancy.
Shirley was born July 26, 1931, the daughter of Roy M. and Mary E. (Howard) Mason in Oskaloosa. On September 12, 1949, she was united in marriage to Delwin D. Howe in Iowa City. He died August 18, 2002.
