Shirley Ann Fleisher

Shirley Ann Fleisher, 90, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. The family will host the funeral service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Central Church of Christ in Cedar Rapids, with visitation to begin one hour prior. A private burial will take place at Dunkard Cemetery in Midway, Iowa. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids assisted the family.
Shirley was born January 16, 1933, in Worthington, Missouri, the daughter of Pearl and Ethel (Hiatt) Lawson. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids. On December 15, 1953, Shirley was united in marriage to Melvin Fleisher at Central Church of Christ in Cedar Rapids. Melvin passed away in 2019 after almost 66 years of marriage. Shirley taught Sunday school for over 35 years and was a devoted member of Central Church of Christ. She worked as an assistant for podiatrist Dr. Richie for over 30 years. Shirley dearly loved her family and they meant everything to her. She will be lovingly remembered.
Survivors include her daughters, Marta (Mark) Gellerman, Lisa Fleisher, and Lori (Robert) Kidd; son, Mark (Connie) Fleisher; six grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Melvin.
