She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest Allen Bush.

Shirley was born in Winterset, Iowa, and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. She attended the University of Iowa, where she met her husband Ernie. A long time resident of Boone, Iowa, she raised her own family there, before retiring to Greers Ferry, Arkansas, and then Green Valley, Arizona. Shirley loved to spend time with her family, visiting, cooking, sewing, gardening, music, swimming and playing tennis. She was the center of her family, weaving many lives into one common thread through love and understanding. Shirley's inner beauty was a shining example for us all.

Remembrances in lieu of flowers may be made in her name to the Green Valley Community Church Foundation Incorporated.
