Sheryl Mary Zaruba, 63, of Delhi, Iowa, died Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Crestview Acres, Marion. Services will be held at a later date.
Survivors include aunts and uncles, Dorothy Wensel of Vermillion, South Dakota, Ron (Bev) Wensel of Souix City, Oliver (Vina) Wensel of Aurora, Colorado, Lee Wensel of Watertown, South Dakota and Virginia Wensel of South Sioux City, Nebraska; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Delores Wensel; two children, Tammy and Jess DeGroot.
Sheryl was born on January 17, 1949, in Vermillion, South Dakota, daughter of Leonard and Delores (Clifford) Wensel. She graduated from Elk Point High School in 1967, Elk Point, South Dakota. She attended a small college in Springfield, South Dakota. Sheryl married Larry DeGroot on January 1, 1970. They later divorced. She then married Larry Zaruba in Cedar Rapids. They later divorced.
