Sheryl “Sheri” E. Burmahl, 71, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on July 2, 2018, at Springfield Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Private family burial will take place at Forest Chapel Hill Cemetery, Morley.
Sheri was born December 29, 1946, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Delbert and Wilma (Blanchard) Mayberry. She graduated from Midland High School in 1965, and in 1967, Sheri married George Burmahl at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They later divorced. She has been employed at Clinton Engineers, Bear River Tiling, Corflex, Walmart and waitressing and bartending at the Main Street Inn and Tango. Sheri played in the country western bands of Jerry’s Combiners and Ray and the Westerners.
She is survived by her son, Chad Burmahl of Marion; siblings, Jim Mayberry of Cedar Rapids, Rick Mayberry of Olin, and Wanda Blankenship of Cedar Rapids; nieces, Cyndy Davidson of Parker, Colorado, Angie Bertch of Cedar Rapids, Pamela Mayberry, Dena Bercher of Marion, and Tracy Cousins of Olin; and nephews, Brent Mayberry of Olin, Kirk Mayberry of Olin, and Brandon Blankenship of Cedar Rapids.
Sheri was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Wilma Mayberry; brothers, Bobby Mayberry and Jerald Mayberry; and sister, Sandy Davidson.
