Sheryl Lynn Matthews

Sheryl Lynn Matthews, 57, of 1335 Emmons Street, Hiawatha, died Friday, February 25, 2005, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, following complications of kidney failure. Private Graveside Services: Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, by Chaplain Cindy Ford Breed. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2005, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, David; her daughters, Rachelle Angell and husband Keith of Marion and Jennifer Shanda and husband Dan of West Des Moines, Iowa; two grandchildren, Spencer Angell and Lauren Shanda; and a sister-in-law and nephew, Shirley and Rod Lundgren of Studio City, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Rodger Lundgren.
Sheryl was born February 9, 1948, the daughter of Ivan and Leona Blazek Lundgren, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A 1966 graduate from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School, she was united in marriage to David Matthews on April 26, 1969, in Iowa City, Iowa. Sheryl worked in electronic sales for Rockwell-Collins, National Semi-Conductor, Fairchild Semi-Conductor and Oasis Sales, retiring in 1996. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, and also an avid cat lover.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Sheryl.
