Sheryl Ann Knodle, 80, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. Memorial Services will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Marion, with visitation one hour prior. Private family inurnment at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.

Sheryl was born on February 16, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Norman Kermit and Zeta Marjorie (Schellin) Ahrendsen. She graduated from Olin Junior-Senior High School and went on to work as a nurse at care centers and hospice facilities in Anamosa, Hiawatha, and Mount Vernon. In 1992, she married the love of her life, John Marcus Knodle. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. Sheryl enjoyed gardening and flowers and loved spending time with grandchildren. After retirement, she and John volunteered at the Hospice House. Sheryl will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sheryl is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Tim, Todd (Autumn), Tracy (Paula), Terry, Marcus Knodle (Simone Schmudde), and Pamela Razor (Billy Satterfield); grandchildren, Lane, Spencer (Alyssa), Danielle (Tyler) Forbes, Andrew (Alissa), Jackson, Kiah (Syd George), Veronica, Morgen, Casey, and Shae; two great-grandchildren, Emerson, and Presley; and brother, Jim (Dawn) Ahrendsen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Knodle; and brother, Dennis Ahrendsen.

Memorials in Sheryl’s memory may be directed to Lutheran Church of the Resurrection Youth Group.
