Sherrel “Sherry” Kay McKee, 80, of Walker, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, surrounded by family. In agreement with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Sherry’s life will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point, Iowa, with Pastor Tyler Hungate officiating. Inurnment will follow at Walker Cemetery in Walker.

Sherry was born on November 29, 1942, the daughter of Kenneth and Marion McMillen. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, taught Sunday School, and volunteered with her sons’ Boy Scouts Troop. Sherry was a big supporter of her children’s activities and later her grandchildren’s. She retired from Rockwell in 2008, after 45 years. Sherry enjoyed going to bible study and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Walker, now known as Hope Church. She enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. Sherry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sherry is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Jeremy (Renee) McKee of Walker, Jeffrey (Courtney) McKee of Urbana, Iowa, and Jami (Scott) Geers of Ryan, Iowa; grandchildren, Jillian (Oscar) McKee, Justin McKee, Bennett McKee, Raynie McKee (fiancé, Jake Opfer), Ryker McKee, Leo and Letty Geers; one sister, Carol Snitkey of Clive, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Claudia Shaner; two brothers, Marlo, and Richard McMillen; brother-in-law, Phil Snitkey; and three nephews, Denny Shaner, Kelly McMillen and Jason Snitkey.
