Sheri Comried

Sheri Comried, 67, of Swisher, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at UnityPoint St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A celebration of Sheri’s life will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2023, from 1 – 4 p.m. at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood, Cedar Rapids.
Sheri was born March 14, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Emmett and Marian (Bar) Rasmussen. Shawn Marie was born in 1972 to Sheri and Jim Comried. The couple then married on September 25, 1976. She worked for GE Capital for 16 years. Sheri achieved her master’s in early childhood education while self-employed at Mother Goose Learning Center. Sheri was devoted to her family and to the care and educational development of children. She was a prolific writer and creative scrapbooker. Sheri loved her family more than anything, especially her beloved grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Comried; daughter, Shawn (Jon) Rife; grandchildren, Mason and Jersey Irons, and Letty Rife; siblings, Emmett Lee (Gay) Rasmussen and Denise Gandy; and four-legged babies, Bently and Bear.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Rick and Gerald Rasmussen; and brother-in-law, Bob Gandy.
