Shawn Edward McGuire, 46, of 1860 County Home Road, Marion, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, of a sudden illness. Graveside Service: Noon, Saturday, July 9, 2005, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Del Bear. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2005, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.
He is survived by his mother, Arlene McGuire, Marion; four sisters, Susan Shearer, Marion, Shiela Anderson, Sufolk, Virginia, Deborah Glackin, and Denise McGuire, both of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Timothy McGuire of Cedar Rapids.
Shawn is also survived by four nephews and a niece.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward J. McGuire; and a sister, Pamela Kay McGuire.
Shawn was born in Garden Grove, California, on April 2, 1959. He was stricken with an illness early in his twenties. Shawn was not able to enjoy the fullness of this life, but his family rejoices that he is now living a rich and full life in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
