Shawn M. Dunleavy, 26, of 6909 Mt. Vernon Road S.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died in Mercy Medical Center, May 2, 2007, from complications of asthma. Services: 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Bill Harnish. The family will greet friends from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment: Linwood Cemetery at a later date.
Survivors include his parents, Patti Dunleavy and Murray Witham both of Cedar Rapids; many aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; one great niece one great nephew; and many cousins.
Shawn was born August 14, 1980, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids he graduated from Kennedy High School in 1999. He worked as a mechanic.
Shawn loved auto racing and helped as a pit crew member with Craig Bender Racing.
