Shauna was born September 18, 1980, the daughter of Dennis and Joyce Ballard Sharp, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A graduate of Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School in 1999, she was active in soccer, choir and band. One of her greatest thrills was marching in the Rose Bowl Parade with the Band of Blue. Shauna attended Kirkwood Community College and had been working at the Grand Canyon National Park for 16 months. This spring she received her certification as an EMT and was volunteering her time at the Canyon. Although she had an undiagnosed heart condition, she hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon on several occasions. Shauna was an active member of the Christian Ministry in the National Parks, singing and preaching God?s word to worshippers on the rim of the Grand Canyon. She was looking forward to furthering her ministry work this fall at college. Shauna is now with God furthering her ministry for eternity.

Shauna was a loving, caring, giving Christian, who was not only an attractive woman, but had a beautiful soul. She had the biggest smile and beautiful twinkling brown eyes and was always positive about life. Shauna was our "Heart of Gold? and will never be forgotten. She enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and especially being with her family. Her laughter and spirit will truly be missed.
