Sharon Kay Pitcher, 72, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Heritage Nursing & Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Tim Carter. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, April 11, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughter, Dawn Heald, Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Taylor, Alex, Karsyn and Spencer; and siblings, Lou Wallerich, Cedar Rapids, Jerry Hoadley, Humansville, Missouri, and Judy Porter of Ottumwa. Also surviving are many other loving family members and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sister, Joyce.
Sharon was born January 5, 1942, in Blairstown, Iowa, the daughter of Newell and Mildred (Brown) Hoadley. In May of 1968, she was united in marriage to Duane Pitcher. He died in 1993.
She was a longtime employee of Rockwell Collins, retiring in 2002. Sharon was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
