Sharon Murdock

Sharon Murdock, 86, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, July 1, 2022, at her home. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
Sharon was born April 25, 1936, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Dan and Olive (Munson) Owen. She was united in marriage to James A. Murdock on August 21, 1954, in Cedar Rapids. Sharon owned and operated the Gold Mine Bar in Cedar Rapids, and then worked as a teacher’s aide at Truman Elementary School until her retirement in 2011.
Survivors include her children, Deena Fernandez of Las Vegas, Nevada, Scott Murdock of Cedar Rapids, and Kelly (Bill) Wharton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Olive Owen; husband, James Murdock; and sons, Marty, Guy, and Jeff Murdock.
