Sharon Rae Iehl, 61, of Central City, went to be with her Creator, Friday, August 26, 2005, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2005, at Central City United Methodist Church by Rev. Nick Needham. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery in Central City.

Survivors include her children, Donald (Kristin) Iehl of Central City, Annette (Rod) Comried of Central City and Suzanne Iehl of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Hedwig "Hedy? Rose of Marion; two brothers, Lyle (Sheila) Rose of Central City and Dennis (Bev) Rose of Golden, Colorado; a sister, Jackie Rose of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Ashley and David Iehl, Elizabeth, Madison and Remington Comried, and Samantha Loudenback; and seven nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lonnie; her husband, David; a son, Eugene Iehl; a daughter, Nancy Iehl; and a brother, Milo Rose, who died in infancy.

Sharon was born March 30, 1944, the daughter of Lonnie and Hedwig (Wunder) Rose in Oelwein. She graduated from Central City High School in 1962, attended Kirkwood Community College, and graduated from Capri Cosmetology College. On January 11, 1964, she married her high school sweetheart, David Lee Iehl, at St. Stephen?s Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Sharon owned and operated Cheri?s Chalet beauty salon at the Linwood Apartments in Cedar Rapids. She was a very active member of the Central City United Methodist Church, the Red Hatters, and Tri T.

Faith and family were very important in her life and she lived for spending time with her grandchildren. Sharon loved spending time outdoors, gardening, doing crafts, and baking. Sharon was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who touched many people?s hearts. She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

In lieu of plants and flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Sharon?s memory.
