Seth T. "Stealthie" Sellner
July 31, 1982 — July 11, 2009
Seth “Stealthie” Sellner, 26, of Manchester, Iowa, died Saturday, July 11, 2009, as a result of an auto accident.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Manchester, with Rev. David Weber officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, July 14 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, Iowa. Inurnment will be in Coffins Grove Cemetery in rural Manchester.
Seth was born on July 31, 1982, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Thomas J. & Pamela J. (Bacon) Sellner. He graduated from West Delaware High School, Manchester, in 2001. Seth studied diesel mechanics at the Universal Technical Institute, Chicago, graduating in 2003. He worked at Bard Concrete, Dyersville, and for the last three years for Ra-Ly Transport in Earlville. Seth also did part-time mechanical work for others, including Preussner Trucking of Delhi and some construction work. On January 24, 2009, Seth was united in marriage to Jennifer Drost at Our Savior Lutheran Church.
As a youth, Seth was active in 4-H, FFA, Auto Club and Boy Scouting and did welding for Custom Metals and at the Tri-State Raceway, both in Earlville. He was gifted at anything mechanical. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially skiing.
Seth had been a foster brother to nine foster children. He was a great pride to his parents. Seth’s high school and college friends were loved as brothers to him and his beautiful wife, Jenny, put the sparkle in his eyes and made his life complete. Seth’s parties, Tuesday movie nights and the infamous “jello jumps” were well attended by his many friends.
Seth is survived by his wife, Jennifer Sellner of Manchester; his parents, Thomas & Pamela Sellner; his paternal grandparents, Don Sellner (Bonnie Steege) of Delaware and Carol Raithel of Earlville; maternal grandparents, Kenneth (Barbara) Bacon of Hopkinton and Nelia (Leonard) Wood of Kellogg; and his in-laws, LeRoy (Julie) Drost of Nekoosa, Wisconsin, and Patti (Ron) Sitter of Eagan, Minnesota. Seth was preceded in death by his paternal step-grandfather, Arthur Raithel and an uncle, Tim Sellner.
