Seth “Seppers” J. McElroy, 20, of Norway, Iowa, chose to go to heaven on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at his home. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2016, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2016, at Sharon United Methodist Church. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his parents, Todd and Jeanne of Norway; sister, Destiney (Derek) Lansink of Odebolt, Iowa; brothers, Caleb McElroy and Kobe McElroy, both of Norway; two nephews, Liam and Ben Lansink; niece, Claire Lansink; grandparents, Regina Jones of Cedar Rapids, Frederick (Donna) Konopaska of Michigan; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his extended family at Hard Drive MMA of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandma, Nancy Deason; grandma, Caron Voght; and cousin, Tyler Standcliff.
Seth was born on May 2, 1996, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Todd and Jeanne McElroy. He attended Metro High School. Seth was an operator for Frontier Co-op in Norway. He was an avid hunter and a world history buff. Seth’s passion was working and training at Hard Drive MMA, where he trained to be a world champion someday. He received four gold medals while performing in the Submission Challenge, with an 8-0 record. Seth enjoyed spending time with his family, along with his brothers and sisters at Hard Drive.
In lieu of flowers, a benefit account has been established at Dupaco Credit Union under Todd.
Seth’s family wants everyone to remember, “Nothing is worth not waking up for”.
